For immediate release
The Centre for Strategic Cyberspace + International Studies (CSCIS) is proud to announce the CSCIS World IoT Congress in Cardiff, Wales on October 8th, 2019.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the next stage in our technological evolution. From smart cities to smart manufacturing, the connections between sensors, artificial intelligence and the cloud offer new possibilities for governments and the private sector. This shift towards IoT is occurring rapidly, and there are now more connected things in the world than people.
The CSCIS World IoT Congress addresses the cyber security concerns that such a connected world creates. IoT creates a decentralised environment with multiple access points for hackers, making security a key concern for legislators and the private sector.
“There is an urgent need for cyber security professionals to develop solutions for IoT”, says CSCIS President Richard Zaluski.
“IoT poses massive challenges to governments and organisations, who are attempting to integrate new technology with legacy systems.
“The benefits of IoT are immense, but its success will depend on our ability to create a secure environment. The CSCIS World IoT Congress is part of a global series of events designed to put cyber security front and centre to ensure industry leaders and organisations have access to solutions that work.”
The event is located at the Wales Millennium Centre. It features dynamic keynote presentations from industry leaders, case studies, and interactive delegate driven panels covering a number of areas critical to IoT. These include the IoT threat landscape, disruptive technologies, smart cities, connected industry, IoT standards and connectivity solutions, and regulatory challenges for IoT.
Announced speakers include Raj Samani, Chief Scientist for McAfee, Peter Davies, Thales, and Welsh Deputy Minister for Economy and Transport Lee Waters.
The first CSCIS World IoT series was held in Singapore in September 2018.
